Weight Management in obesity control

Weight management is an issue facing thousands if not millions of people in the world. Obesity is considered a disease prevalent in the developed world and that is the consequence if weight is not properly managed and balloons to enormous proportions. A body mass index of 30 and above signifies obesity though this value can be as high as 35. Body mass index is calculated by dividing the mass by the square of the height.

In weight management, there are three basic components that need to be addressed. These three factors come hand in hand and without each factor, the equation will be incomplete and the results won't be as satisfactory.

The first is nutrition wise where what goes into your body needs to be scrutinized and controlled. Correct diet foods need to be taken with the proper calculated calories. And that is not all. They should also be taken at the correct time and there should strictly be no night binging or late supper before sleep. There are also many guides available online which are rather cheap and reliable if you would rather do it yourself instead of spending so much at the diet centers. But nothing beats having someone to advise and motivate you every step of the way if you have the budget.

The second component is a proper adequate exercise regime. Again, this can be done yourself or with the assistance of someone. A proper exercise plan is very important in managing your weight. It ensures that excess calories are burnt off instead of stored and keeps those flaps and love handles away.

The third and always neglected component is the psychological aspect. Motivation and discipline is very important and can make the difference between failure and success. Hence this aspect should be paid equal attention to and as like the previous two components can be done yourself or with someone's help.
